Beavers Cubs Scouts

Tuesday Colony

The Tuesday Colony meet every Tuesday each week during school term time from 6.00pm – 7.15pm

Although our numbers have gone down this year due to those moving on to Cubs we have still had plenty going on.

We helped make poppies to display around the village to commemorate 100 years since the end of WW1 and had a good turn out for the Remembrance Day and St. Georges Day parades.

We have had a few visitors who have come to help run activities including the Wise family who brought along a variety of musical instruments for the Beavers to have a go at playing.

Jono ran an evening to help gain the Faith badge and Stuart (Digger) moved from Scouts to Beavers for 2 weeks to do some fun activities with ropes, knots and jelly babies!

We had a ‘summer in winter’ sleepover doing activities with a summer theme to help brighten our winter days and the Beavers gained around 3 badges each while they were there.

All the mums were invited to join us for a Mother’s Day evening of decorating cakes and the children making mum a cup of tea to enjoy with their cake.

A fun day was had at the District Spy Challenge with communicating and coding activities to gain their communicator badge.

Other outside activities included taking part in Fair Oak carnival with our Lego theme, a visit to Pets at Home to see and handle the animals and a trip to Rock Up for some wall climbing challenges.

Numbers:
We have invested 4 new members into our colony.
There have been well over 100 badges earned and awarded to our Beavers.
4 gained their Chief Scout Bronze Award.
2 have moved on up to Cubs.

A big “well done” must go to one of our Beavers who has worked really hard and gain all 22 activity badges. This is a first for us as the number of badges keeps increasing it is quite a big achievement to be able to do all of them. Well done George and keep up the hard work when you move on to Cubs.
