JOTA/JOTI 2021

Please find below details for a special camp which we will be running for all our members.

For this camp a number of Cub Packs from Eastleigh District including the 7th (Fair Oak) 11th (North Stoneham) and 12th Wolf Pack/Thursdays (Bishopstoke).

JOTI (Jamboree on the Internet) is a special Scouting event that involve interacting with other Scouts from all around the world and all participants who completes the session will receive a special badge; which can be worn on their uniform.

We would like to encourage all Cubs to take part in this unique activity event; as the Cubs who attended the previous sessions over the last few years will know it will be something different to experience and an opportunity to make some new friends and of course it will be lots of fun.

Dates:Friday 15th – Sunday 17th October 2021
Location:Woodlands Community Centre, Savernake Way, Fair Oak, Eastleigh, SO50 8DH
Meeting Time and Location:Friday 15th October, 19:00pm, At the location above.
Collection Time and Location:Sunday 17th October, At 12pm (noon), At the same location as arrival
Cost:The total cost for this experience is: £12. The cost is non-refundable. This cost is for all expenses during the experience including activities, accommodation, and food costs.
Payment Methods:




For this experience you will be able to make a payment (for the above cost) by a bank transfer using the following details: Sort Code: 30-92-94, Account Number: 00076359, Reference: JOTI-SURNAME (for example: JOTI-SMITH).

We will require a payment processed by Thursday 7th October, to enable your young person to participate in this experience.

Permission to Camp Form:Please can you complete the attached form and return with payment to your sectional leader by Thursday 7th Octoberto confirm your young person’s attendance on this experience – we cannot accept anyone on the experience without it.
Activities:The camp’s purpose is to give the Cubs an opportunity to try some new challenging activities, earn badges as well as to experience the fun, adventure and friendship that is a feature of camping in Cubs. There will be lots of fun games, night-time antics, and lots of opportunities to ‘achieve’ whatever their strengths or weaknesses.
Some of the activities being organised for this experience will include: JOTI – Jamboree on the Internet, Night Hike and Wide Games, Film Night, Team Building Activities, Fire Safety Activities, Youth Shaped Activities, Chippy Hike plus loads more fun-filled activities.
Clothing Requirements:Please find attached a kit list for this camp – please take note of this, as he does refer to a few of the planned activities.
Please make sure all kit is marked with your young person’s name.
All kit brought on camp, is the sole responsibility of the young person and the leadership team will take no responsibility for loss or breakage.
Transport Requirements:Participants will need to make their own way to the experience. If you may struggle to get your participant to the location, could you make a member of the leadership aware of any issues as soon as possible, so that they can hopefully help to find an alternative transport arrangement.
Food Provisions:
The leadership team will provide and feed the Cubs lots of good wholesome food for the duration of the camp.
They will not need any additional food so please do not send them along with any additional sweets, crisps or biscuits. The only exception will be a Cake, which is big enough for sharing, but can’t be home-made due to allergies, which will be given to a member of the leadership team on arrival.
Personal Money
Cubs will not need to bring any additional fees with them on this experience.
First Aid and Medical Requirements:


No member of the camp leadership team is allowed to administer any medicines to the young people unless such medicines have been provided by the parents with the dosage and the cub’s name clearly marked.
We will have a full Scout-recommended first aid kit with us which includes the proprietary medicines referred to in the attached forms.
If your cub needs to carry an inhaler with him/ her please could you supply a spare, marked with his/ her name, to be held by our first aider in case his current one runs out or is lost.

This number is for emergencies only, please do NOT call for updates.

Additional Information:Cubs will need to have a meal before arrival on the Friday evening (15th October) as dinner will not be served.
