About Us

The 12th Eastleigh was formed in 1909 as the 1st Bishopstoke Scout Group, this changed to the 12th Eastleigh when the Bishopstoke District was merged into the Eastleigh District.

The 12th Eastleigh Scout Group is a charitable organisation, who firmly follow the UK Scout Associations “Youth Shaped Scouting” model, allowing young people to make decisions on activities that are undertaken, while ensuring all members receive #skillsforlife

We are a registered Charity in England & Wales, Charity no. 1053750

Our Leaders

As with all leaders under the UK Scout Association, every leader with the 12th Eastleigh is subjected to regular DBS checks (CRB/criminal record check), has an up to date First Aid qualification, and was required to provide 2 references upon joining as a leader.
These requirements are checked at District level by the Eastleigh District Appointments Committee, prior to a leader being accepted, and reviewed on an ongoing basis.

All leaders also undertake a training programme, where they learn the required skills needed to be a leader in the UK Scout movement, with several of the modules requiring ongoing learning, or to be retaken at set intervals.
